Spicy Potatoes with Garlic Sauce

I have a mild addiction to a certain Lebanese fast food place that serves these delicious spicy fries with a garlic sauce. It’s actually one of my favorite things ever and I get cravings for it all the time, haha! Anyway, I decided to try making them at home and I found out the sauce is actually super easy and only uses 4 ingredients. Soooo.. here’s my rendition of their fries and sauce. It’s pretty close to what they serve and I know I’ll be making these all the time now! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! 🙂

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp olive oil
  • 6 russet potatoes, sliced into bite-size cubes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 Tbsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and drizzle olive oil over large sheet pan.
2. Spread potatoes in even layer on baking sheet and toss in olive oil. Sprinkle the garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper and parsley over top and toss again. Bake for 25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
3. Meanwhile, in blender or food processor, puree the garlic and salt until no chunks remain. Slowly add the vegetable oil and lemon juice, scraping sides when needed. Continue the processing until the sauce is creamy and a mayonnaise consistency.
4. Remove fries from oven, transfer to serving tray and sprinkle with fresh cilantro. Serve warm with garlic sauce to dip. Enjoy!
