Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup warm milk

  • 2 1/2 tsp quick rise yeast

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour

  • 3/4 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 medium sized apples, peeled and finely chopped

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tbsp milk

Directions

  • Warm milk until lukewarm. Put milk in electric mixing bowl and sprinkle yeast on top. Add sugar, eggs and butter to yeast mixture. Mix until combined, then stir in flour and salt with wooden spoon until soft dough forms.
  • With dough hook attached, knead dough for approx. 7 minutes. If it’s not forming a ball and is too sticky, add a little more flour.
  • Transfer dough to oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap and a warm towel. Allow to rise for an hour or until doubled in size.
  • Transfer dough to floured surface and roll out into a large rectangle shape, about 9X14”. Spread soft butter over dough and sprinkle the brown sugar over, almost all the way to the edges of dough.
  • In a small bowl, toss together the apples, granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle this over the brown sugar.
  • Roll out the dough and cut into 1” sections using serrated knife. Place seam-side down into greased 9X14” baking dish. You should be able to get 12 rolls in. Give them a little space in between as they will rise more. Cover with plastic wrap and warm cloth and let rise again for additional 40 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake uncovered 25-30 minutes, until just golden brown on top.
  • While baking you can prepare your frosting by beating the butter in electric mixer until fluffy and pale, then slowly adding the powdered sugar, vanilla and a little milk if its too thick.
  • Remove rolls from oven and let cool slightly before icing. Enjoy!
