Simple Skillet Peach Crisp

A quick and impressive dish that could not be easier to have on the table in time for dessert. Peaches are such a summery fruit and I really had a craving for them this week so I used them in this crisp, which is my favorite way to make apple crisp as well, so of course you can swap the fruit out for whatever you prefer. I make this as a breakfast, too, and just top with additional fruit. 🙂 Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 6 large peaches, pit removed and sliced

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup butter, cut into small cubes

  • 1 1/2 cups oats

  • vanilla ice cream, for serving

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a large, cast iron skillet, toss together the peaches, 1/2 the granulated sugar sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon.
  • In a separate large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, remaining white sugar, and salt. Add the butter and mix together with hands until it forms coarse crumbs. Add the oats and mix again.
  • Spread the oat mixture out over the peaches and bake until top is golden brown and peaches are bubbling around edges. (Approximately 40 mins-1 hour)
  • Cool slightly before serving with ice cream. Enjoy!
