Ingredients

  • 3 cups granulated sugar

  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed

  • 1 1/2 cups corn starch

  • 1 1/2 tsp nutmeg

  • 3 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp ground cloves

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 9 cups water

  • 4 Tablespoons lemon juice

  • 6 quarts of apples, peeled, cored and chopped

Directions

  • In an extra large pot combine all the dry ingredients, whisk well.
  • Add the water to the pot and stir again, bring to a boil over medium heat
  • Add apples and lemon juice, turn heat to Low and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  • Cool apple filling to room temperature and transfer to airtight containers to refrigerate. The mixture will thicken more as it cools. (Makes about 7 quarts.) Enjoy πŸ™‚
