This pot roast is no-fail and always tastes amazing, no qualms about it. I don’t know what it is about those dressing packets but they’re magical and take the roast to another level. I remember a couple times I didn’t have the dry dressing on hand so I was able to find a recipe for the mix online, I wish I could give you the link but I can’t find it now. Anyway, this roast is so great because it just cooks all day and fills up your house with that yummy Sunday dinner aroma. It is so nice to be able to throw it in the slow cooker in the morning and not have to think about it for ages. I hope you make this soon (it’s really great any day of the week, tbh) and let me know how your family likes it, too!! Enjoy 🙂 And for a great biscuit recipe, try my Cheddar Biscuits. 🙂
Sunday Slow-Cooker Pot Roast
Ingredients
- 3-4 lb chuck steak roast
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix
- 1 packet Italian dressing mix
- 2 cups water
- 4 russet potatoes, cut into cubes
- 4-5 Pepperoncini peppers
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup cremini mushrooms, halved
- salt and pepper
Directions
- Place roast in crockpot and add water. Sprinkle the dressing packets over the roast and place the butter on top of the roast, as well. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours.
- Add the potatoes and mushrooms around the roast and baste them in the liquid from the pot. Add the peppers. Sprinkle everything with salt and pepper. Cover and cook an additional 3-4 hours.
- Using 2 forks, shred beef. (I transfer my roast, potatoes and mushrooms to a separate serving dish before this step, to make it easier to serve- and prettier) Enjoy!
